Top travel destinations chosen by Vietnamese tourists for the April 30 – May 1 holiday

With the upcoming 5-day holiday, Vietnamese travelers have many opportunities to choose domestic and international travel destinations.

As the April 30th and May 1st holidays approach, domestic residents are planning trips to enjoy the extended break. Booking.com, one of the global leaders in digital travel, has revealed the most sought-after domestic and international destinations for Vietnamese travelers during this period.

Coastal locations and cooler climates are leading the search trends. Booking.com’s 2024 Travel Predictions report shows that 75% of Vietnamese travelers are seeking cooler destinations to escape rising daytime temperatures. This demand is evidenced by a significant surge in searches for Da Lat, a city renowned for its cool mountainous natural environment and peaceful landscapes. Da Lat also tops the list of the most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese travelers during this year’s April 30th – May 1st holiday.

Moreover, 82% of domestic travelers prefer waterfront locations for their relaxing qualities. This trend partly explains the dominance of coastal destinations in the most searched domestic travel destinations list. Da Nang leads the list, famous for its enchanting beaches and lively nightlife, followed by Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Hoi An, Phan Thiet, and Mui Ne.

The top 10 most searched domestic destinations from April 26th to May 1st include: Da Lat, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, Phan Thiet, and Mui Ne.

Not only domestic destinations but also neighboring cities in the Asia-Pacific region attract significant attention from Vietnamese travelers. Bangkok tops the list of most searched international destinations, followed by Singapore, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, and Tokyo. Thailand remains a popular choice with Vietnamese travelers, with 3 out of the top 10 most searched international destinations being cities in the Land of Smiles.

The top 10 most searched international destinations by Vietnamese travelers from April 26th to May 1st include: Bangkok, Singapore, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Taipei, Ubud, Hong Kong, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.

The study tracked search queries from March 17th to April 6th, with check-in dates ranging from April 26th to May 1st.
