Ninh Thuan to open pedestrian street and night market

The Ninh Thuan government aims to open a pedestrian street with 7 areas in Phan Rang – Thap Cham City to create space and promote tourism development.

On March 23rd, the People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan province announced that the locality had approved a pilot project for a pedestrian street in the center of Phan Rang – Thap Cham City. This project is expected to promote and introduce the distinctive traditional cultural features of the local people to tourists when visiting and staying in the area.

The province requires over 51 billion VND, of which the budget capital is over 26 billion VND, and the remainder is from socialization capital. The location for organizing the pedestrian street in Phan Rang – Thap Cham City, with themes including Ninh Thuan’s identity, cultural convergence, leading to the future, solidarity for development, enhancing daytime activities, mass sports, and tourism night markets.

For the pedestrian street in Phan Rang – Thap Cham City, there will be the route of the Bau Truc pottery heritage, located in the northwest center of the April 16 Park, extending to the Ninh Thuan tourism night market. Here, there will be exhibition booths displaying OCOP products, local specialties, handicrafts, pottery, and weaving products.

The pedestrian street will feature ethnic artistic activities, street culture, such as Cham culture, Raglai culture, Bai Choi (a traditional game), don ca tai tu (southern amateur music), performances with stone musical instruments, Chapi lute, Ghi-nang drum, Paranung drum, Saranai trumpet…

It is planned that the pedestrian street will be put into operation on April 16, coinciding with the Liberation Day of Ninh Thuan. The pedestrian street will operate from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, holidays, Tet, as well as major political events of the locality and the country.
