Recently, Booking.com (the online booking platform under Booking Holdings Inc.) published a survey on the importance of the Reboot Retreats trend in 2024 and its potential. The survey included 27,730 participants from 33 countries and territories, with 1,007 Vietnamese travelers.

According to the survey, three of the trends within the healing travel group include:

  • Sleep-Focused Vacations (also known as Sleep Tourism): 67% of the 27,730 survey participants expressed interest in sleep-focused vacations in 2024.
  • Romantic Vacations for Singles: 62% of single Vietnamese travelers shared that they would spend their vacation time searching for a romance or a new lover. On the other hand, 38% stated that they want to use their travel time to heal after a breakup.
  • Private Vacations for Parents: 66% of parents in the Asia-Pacific region expressed a desire for a private trip to spend time alone and reconnect with themselves.

A representative from Booking.com commented that Reboot Retreats are predicted not only to dominate in 2024 but also to continue gaining traction in the following years.

This trend serves as a “mental medicine” to heal individuals in modern life, encouraging travelers to “disconnect” from the busy and stressful daily work to spend time reconnecting with themselves.

Reboot Retreats are not just about resting; they also open doors for travelers to explore and learn new customs and cultures, bringing positive changes to their daily lives.

Booking.com also suggested a list of suitable destinations in Vietnam for this activity, such as Hoi An (enjoying the beauty of the Thu Bon River), Da Lat (breathing in the cool, pleasant air), Phu Quoc (immersing in the secluded beaches), Ninh Binh (appreciating the majestic mountain scenery), and Moc Chau (blending in with the vast green tea hills).
