Convenient visa policies and attractive tourism stimulus programs continue to have a positive impact, attracting a significantly higher number of international visitors to Vietnam compared to the same period last year.
This is the assessment of the General Statistics Office on the tourism situation in our country over the past 4 months in the report “Economic and Social Situation in April and the First 4 Months of the Year” released on April 29.
Specifically, in April, the number of international visitors to Vietnam remained stable despite it being the peak domestic tourism season, reaching nearly 1.6 million people, an increase of 58.2% compared to the same period last year.
Overall for the first 4 months of the year, international visitors to our country reached 6.2 million, an increase of 68.3% compared to the same period last year and a 3.9% increase compared to the same period in 2019 – the year before the Covid-19 pandemic.
