From the 29th of the lunar December to the end of the 5th day of the Lunar New Year 2024, Da Nang welcomed around 111 domestic and international flights to Da Nang Airport each day. Tourist spots reported a significant increase in visitors compared to the previous year.
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, out of the approximately 111 daily flights, 58 were domestic and 53 were international. The total number of tourists visiting and touring Da Nang during the Tet holiday increased by about 37% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching an estimated 402,000 visitors. The number of international visitors also increased significantly, with around 177,000 arrivals. The department noted that the majority of tourists were individual travelers, accounting for about 60-70%, mainly concentrated from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet.
Among them, domestic tourists mainly came from major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and neighboring provinces such as Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Hue, etc. International tourists mainly hailed from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India, and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.).
The 7-day Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Tiger provided favorable conditions for recreational activities for many families and young people, with beach vacations being particularly popular. During Tet, visitors to Da Nang mainly chose resort-style vacations at 4-5-star hotels and equivalent beachfront accommodations.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Tiger, Da Nang organized a series of recreational activities to serve visitors during this period, such as the Spring Flower Festival, the Quang Da Tet Cultural and Culinary Festival, the God of Wealth Festival, traditional Bai Choi singing performances, and bustling Tet markets.
