Most of the world’s countries are open to international travelers, and Vietnam is not an exceptional nation.
As global case numbers begin to decline, many places have begun to ease their requirements for visitors to test or quarantine. Some countries that had fully closed to foreign tourists have either dropped those bans or announced plans to do so.
So far, Vietnam has reopened international air routes to 20 countries and territories, a transport official has said.

The 20 international air routes that have been reopened are Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Laos, China, France, Germany, the UK, Australia, Russia, and the US, Vietnam News Agency reported.
Eight others to which air routes haven’t been resumed consist of Brunei, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Macao, Finland, Italy, and Switzerland, Tran Bao Ngoc, Director of the Transportation Department at Transport Ministry, told reporters at a press meeting on February 22.

Vietnam currently is grappling with rising numbers of Covid-19 cases in the country.
As of Monday, it has registered over 2.8 million locally transmitted Covid-19 cases since the start of the current wave in April 2021, said the health ministry.
Around 191.7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in the country, including 174.9 million shots on people aged 18 and above, said the ministry.
