Estimated during the 2024 Tourism Week “The Golden Season of Tam Coc – Trang An,” taking place from June 1-8, Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 300,000 visitors, including 61,000 international tourists.
The total number of visitors to Ninh Binh during this period was 285,000 (an increase of nearly 66%), with international tourists accounting for 61,000 (a twofold increase) compared to 2023. According to the Department of Tourism’s report, hotel occupancy rates throughout the province reached 70-75% during this year’s Tourism Week, while the Tam Coc area saw an average occupancy rate of 85-90%, reaching 100% on the opening night of June 1, 2024. Additionally, other areas outside Tam Coc, such as the Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Bai Dinh Pagoda, Trang An, Mua Cave, Thung Nham, also experienced a high volume of visitors.
Notably, around 25,000 visitors attended the Opening Ceremony of Tourism Week in the Tam Coc area. Thanks to thorough preparations for traffic management, safety, and security in the area of the Opening Ceremony, the boat dock, and the main roads leading to the Tam Cốc area, the organization, reception of delegates, security, and environmental sanitation were well maintained, with no accidents or traffic congestion during the Opening Ceremony.
Tourists and people came in large numbers on the opening night of Ninh Binh Tourism Week
This year’s highlight of the Golden Season of Tam Coc – Trang An Tourism Week was the ceremony of carrying agricultural products on the river, with the participation of 63 boats carrying distinctive products from various regions across the country as offerings to the Agriculture God, honoring the beauty and value of agricultural products from the province and national.
Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to explore and experience numerous cultural and religious activities characteristic of the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, such as watching traditional Water Puppet performances, Xam singing, Goat Fighting Festival, exhibitions visiting of traditional handicrafts, OCOP products, and art photo exhibitions.
The beautiful landscape in Ninh Binh is highly appreciated by tourists.
Nguyen Duc from Thai Binh shared with VTV reporters, “My child just finished school for the summer, so we decided to take the whole family to Ninh Binh. I love the scenery here. It’s similar to the rice fields in Thai Binh, but interspersed with impressive hills and mountains.”
Nguyen Tien Huan, Director of MVMEDIATOURS Travel Company, stated, “Ninh Binh is becoming increasingly attractive to tourists with its diverse range of tourism products. Previously, our tours were typically shorter, but recently we’ve been able to design multi-day trips for tourists to experience many of Ninh Binh’s offerings, which they thoroughly enjoy.”
