This year’s holiday spans 5 days from Saturday (April 27) to Wednesday (May 1). One of the highly anticipated events for locals and tourists alike is the 10th-anniversary celebration of the Trang An Landscape Complex’s UNESCO inscription as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.
Throughout the commemorative week, visitors to Ninh Binh can participate in various exceptional and enticing activities before, during, and after the main event. Those seeking a sacred cultural experience can join the Trang An Festival on April 26 at the Trang An Ecotourism Area to witness unique river rituals.
Sports enthusiasts can engage in eco-friendly activities such as the “Cycling for Green Environment” on April 27 or participate in the “Heritage Stamp 2024” Marathon on April 28 along the Trang An-Bai Dinh Heritage Route, with an estimated 1,000-1,500 participants.
For lovers of traditional arts, immerse yourself in water puppetry performances, folk singing, and the cultural ambiance of rural villages at Hoa Lu Ancient Town.
Ms. Tran Thi Diep Anh, Head of the Hoa Lu Ancient Town Management Board, mentioned that to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Heritage and the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2024) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), a special cultural program called “Hoa Lu Splendor” will be held on the evening of April 30, 2024. This grand-scale event will feature over 100 artists, including the famous Vietnamese singer My Tam, promising an exciting “music feast” for visitors and locals alike.
Additionally, the “Hoa Lu Splendor” concert will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display. “The event will be open to visitors and locals free of charge. The aim is to celebrate the outstanding global values of the Trang An Landscape Complex and introduce Ninh Binh’s natural beauty and culture to domestic and international friends,” Ms. Diep Anh stated.
During this period, the Cultural Space of Khe Coc Island (Ninh Xuan Commune, Hoa Lu District) will host many exciting activities, including the “Weaving Nostalgia” concert on April 27 and 30, along with craft village experiences and delightful cuisine, promising visitors a vibrant atmosphere steeped in music, tourism, and the cultural heritage of the ancient capital.
