Lien Khuong International Airport features a 3,250 m long, 45 m wide asphalt runway, accommodating Code D aircraft such as B757 and A300. The airport will support both regular and irregular international and domestic flights, as well as private and military aircraft.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Phuc highlighted that this upgrade will significantly boost regional socio-economic development, particularly enhancing Da Lat’s tourism sector.
Originally constructed in 1933, Lien Khuong Airport has undergone multiple expansions and now handles over 2 million passengers annually. The airport, located 39 km from Da Lat, also hosts numerous international flights.
By 2030, Lien Khuong International Airport aims to expand to 340.8 hectares, with a capacity of 5 million passengers per year, further growing to 486.8 hectares and 7 million passengers by 2050.
