High-speed ship from Da Nang to Ly Son island attracts tourists

The waterway transport route from Da Nang to Ly Son (Quang Ngai) has just been put into operation, promising to be an attractive tourist product, attracting tourists.

On the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Da Nang, on March 29, at the Han River wharf, Da Nang City People’s Committee cooperated with Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee and Phu Quoc High-speed Ship Joint Stock Company (Phu Quoc Express), to organize the opening of the Da Nang waterway transport route to Ly Son island in Quang Ngai province.

Mr. Tran Phuoc Son, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee said the opening of the waterway transport route from the shore to Da Nang – Ly Son island is a meaningful event in a series of activities to celebrate major holidays in this historic March.

This is also a new tourism product, aiming to diversify products to attract tourists after the interruption due to the impact of Covid-19.

Mr. Son believes that the waterway from Da Nang Han River port to Ly Son island will be an attractive tourism product, associated with the experience of high-quality products and services, meeting the needs and demands of tourists in the coming time.

In recent years, Da Nang’s tourism industry cooperates with tourism associations and businesses to build and organize the implementation of many programs and products of water tourism, night scenery on the Han River, visiting Da Nang Bay, Son Tra peninsula, etc. It is enjoyed by a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

This is one of the unique products that take advantage of the poetic Han River given to Da Nang by nature.

It is known that the new tourist route serves visitors according to the route from Han River port to Ly Son port with a length of 70 nautical miles, a journey time of 3 hours and is operated with a frequency of 4 flights/week: on Tuesday and Saturday depart from Da Nang; Wednesday and Sunday depart at Ly Son island.

The ship put into operation this route is the Trung Trac, IMO number 9886483, with a length of 44.7 m, engine capacity of 7,505 HP, a capacity of 612 people, of which the maximum number of passengers allowed is 598.

Ticket prices range from 590,000 to 720,000 VND/time for economy class and 900,000 VND/time for VIP class.

After the trial period, it is expected that Trung Trac ship will be put into operation for the first time on April 9 with a frequency of 2 trips and return during the day to meet the needs of tourists.
