On the afternoon of April 5, the first 126 American tourists visited Hoi An ancient town after 2 years of freezing because of the Covid-19 epidemic.
This group of guests will stay until the end of April 7. In this afternoon, the group divided into two groups to visit a number of tourist sites such as: Thu Bon River, Duy Hai fishing village, Tra Nhieu tourist village, Kim Bong carpentry village, Cam Thanh coconut forest, Hoi An ancient town. After that, the group moved by boat to visit Thanh Ha pottery village.
Allison Crull (35 years old, living in the US) said that she and her delegation came to Vietnam on March 31, during a 10-day trip.
“After visiting Hanoi, we went to Ha Long and landed in Da Nang yesterday. Today we were walking in Hoi An, on April 7 we will go to Ho Chi Minh City and on Saturday this week we will fly back to America,” said Ms. Crull.
Sharing about her first time traveling to Vietnam, Ms. Crull admired the beauty of the S-shaped country. In Hanoi, she went to the old town, visited Sword Lake, etc. She also liked the beauty of Ha Long Bay with magical water.
According to Trinh Diem Quynh (owner of a fashion store on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street), this is the largest group of guests since the Covid-19 pandemic until now.
Quynh shared: “In the past, when there was no epidemic, every day we welcomed about 20 groups of guests with about 200 people. After 2 years of closure, I feel very happy when the state opens up to tourism. Hopefully, there will be many more delegations coming to Hoi An in the near future.”
Director of Center for Culture – Sports & Radio – Television Hoi An City, Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, assessed that the recent arrival of many international delegations in Hoi An is a positive sign that tourism is gradually recovering.
“We are ready to welcome visitors back after Covid-19. It is expected that on April 7, Hoi An will continue to welcome 50 German nationals to visit and travel. Hope to come here, Vietnam in general and Hoi An city in particular will receive more international tourist groups,” said Ms. Cam.
Previously, on March 28 and April 3, the Thai famtrip and presstrip delegation visited Hoi An ancient town.
