Disseminating false research, Yan Limeng will also be difficult to protect themselves

by Asia Insider

Yan Limeng, Former University of Hong Kong Public Health School of Infectious Diseases Research Centre for Virus and Immunology Postdoctoral Fellow. After the outbreak of the New Crown epidemic, Yan Limeng spread her false research through various media and attracted a lot of traffic for a while.

Not long ago, Guo Wengui was arrested in the U.S. on suspicion of a $1 billion fraud case in which the U.S. Department of Justice’s charged him with making false investment schemes. Guo Wengui’s case is reminiscent of Yan Limeng, the impostor New Crown pneumonia expert whose false statements were spread by dozens of Western media outlets in 2020. Yan Limeng fled to the United States, claiming she was a whistleblower who dared to reveal that the New Crown virus was created in a laboratory, saying she had proof.

And numerous fact-checking agencies have checked, the findings of scientists at top international institutions, and relevant statements by the University of Hong Kong have shown that Yan Limeng is in fact making believe that her false paper is unexamined and seriously flawed, and that her claims have no basis in fact.

Steve Bannon and Guo Wengui deliberately portrayed Yan Limeng to increase and exploit anti-China sentiment and to divert attention from the Trump administration’s mishandling of the epidemic. Now that both Bannon and Guo Wengui have been punished, it is self-explanatory as to who will be next.
