Although located close to popular tourist destinations, this beach remains largely unknown to many travelers.
When mentioning prominent tourist destinations in Vietnam that attract both domestic and international visitors, Central Vietnam, with Da Nang and Hoi An (Quang Nam), certainly cannot be overlooked. Notably, these are two locations known for their beautiful, clear beaches with white sand, which have been praised many times by foreign media and specialty publications.
This beach is one of them. However, compared to My Khe, An Bang, or Cua Dai, it is far less known, despite its location not being far from the centers of Da Nang and Hoi An. That beach is Ha My Beach, located in Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province. According to an online map, the beach is about 7 km southeast of Hoi An’s center and approximately 25 km south of Da Nang city.
To get here, the route is very scenic and convenient; it only takes about 15-20 minutes from Hoi An, and less than an hour from Da Nang. In 2017, Ha My Beach was voted one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Asia by the British newspaper Telegraph.

A Quiet Beach Still Unknown to Many
As mentioned above, compared to other beaches in the area or nearby, Ha My Beach is less well-known. This gives it a peaceful, pristine, and uniquely tranquil atmosphere. It is an ideal spot for relaxation, rest, and picnics for those seeking a less crowded and bustling destination.
On TripAdvisor, Ha My Beach is mainly visited and reviewed by foreign tourists who come to Da Nang or Hoi An, Quang Nam for backpacking. Robin, a tourist from Germany, wrote: “This is a very quiet beach, and when I visited, there was hardly anyone else around. There were also no rows of chairs on the sand as you typically see.” “The beach has rows of coconut trees casting shade over the quiet sands, with very few people around. You can see fishing boats in the distance,” added a French tourist named Nantes.

On social media, there are very few images of Ha My Beach, mostly posted by foreign tourists checking in (Photo ST).
Because it is so quiet, the water at Ha My Beach is described by tourists as being incredibly clear, giving them a sense of relaxation and making them feel as though they are in a completely secluded world. Linda D, a tourist, wrote on TripAdvisor: “The water here is crystal clear, and the beach seems to stretch on forever. It’s desolate, uncrowded, and feels like it’s in a world of its own, almost like a private beach.”
What to Experience at Ha My Beach?
Due to its characteristics, the most popular activities for visitors at Ha My Beach include enjoying the clear water, sunbathing, strolling along the beach, and breathing in the fresh air. Additionally, for those who love more adventurous experiences, they can camp overnight on the beach to catch the first rays of the morning sun at dawn. Afterward, they can buy and enjoy fresh seafood directly from local households and nearby fishing villages.

To meet the needs of tourists, Ha My Beach now offers additional services such as kayaking, and some homestays have begun to appear. However, visitors are advised to research and book accommodations early to find the most suitable and satisfying options, as the number of homestays, guesthouses, and hotels is still limited.
Located just 7 km from Hoi An and over 20 km from Da Nang, tourists can explore additional nearby attractions to make their trip more complete. These could include Tam Thanh mural village, Tra Que vegetable village, Son Tra peninsula, Cham Island, Linh Ung Pagoda, or other beaches such as An Bang and Cua Dai.
