In March 2024, the revenue from food and accommodation services experienced a significant increase, reaching an estimated VND 2,174 billion. This marks a notable uptick of 5.6% compared to the previous month and a substantial increase of 16.6% compared to the same period last year.
The revenue from accommodation services alone is estimated at VND 893.6 billion, showing a surge of 3.3% from the previous month and an impressive 32.8% from the same period in 2023. Simultaneously, the revenue from food services reached VND 1,281 billion, rising by 7.3% from the previous month and 7.4% from the same period last year. The overall revenue from food and accommodation services for the first quarter of 2024 is estimated to have increased by 19.8% compared to the same period last year.
In March 2024, accommodation establishments served an estimated 672,500 guests, showing a robust increase of 5.6% from the previous month and a substantial rise of 16% compared to March 2023. The total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments in the first quarter of 2024 reached an estimated 1,885,000, marking a significant uptick of 23.4% compared to the same period last year. Among these, international visitors numbered approximately 636,000, experiencing a notable increase of 21.6%, while domestic visitors exceeded 1.2 million, showing a solid rise of 24.3% over the same period.
The average number of days stayed by overnight guests in the first quarter of 2024 is estimated at 1.31 days per visit, with international visitors staying an average of 1.68 days per visit.
This increase in tourism activity has made a positive impact on Da Nang’s overall economy, reflecting the success of recent efforts to promote Da Nang tourism globally and stimulate domestic demand. Notably, the implementation of the visa policy on August 15, 2023, which extended the temporary stay period for international tourists to 90 days, has played a pivotal role in attracting international visitors to Da Nang in early 2024.
