By organizing golf tournaments and international golf tourism events, Danang City aims to attract high-spending quality golfers, contributing to the realization of its high-quality tourism development strategy
Recently, at the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort & Convention Center, the People’s Committee of Danang City, Danang City’s Department of Tourism, and BRG Group announced the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024.
In its third year, the golf tournament is scheduled to take place from August 29 to 31, with the participation of 144 domestic and international golfers, and prizes totaling up to $100,000.

According to Danang City’s Department of Tourism, with the advantage of owning many top-class golf courses in the region and the strong development of golf tourism in key international markets, Danang City identifies the important position of golf tourism in its in-depth market segmentation strategy, attracting high-spending quality visitors.
In the first half of 2024, the total number of golf rounds played at the three golf courses in Danang reached 88,502, an increase of over 4,000 rounds compared to the same period in 2023 (84,327 rounds), with the Legend Danang Golf Resort leading with more than 59,000 rounds.
Da Nang City develops golf tourism to aim for high-quality tourism
Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Danang City, stated that hosting the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang for three consecutive years affirms Danang’s position as “Asia’s Leading Events – Festivals Destination.” Additionally, this is an important milestone in developing the city’s potential golf tourism to become one of Asia and the world’s leading golf destinations, contributing to promoting high-quality tourism development in line with the city’s tourism development orientation.
Mr. Mark Reeves, Deputy General Director of BRG Group, shared that the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang is part of the strategy to elevate Danang into a top regional and global golf tourism destination. The tournament lays a solid foundation and inspires Vietnamese golfers to compete directly with top regional talents, thereby clearly defining the path towards professional golf.
The BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 is the seventh stop of the Asian Development Tour series, authorized by the Asian Tour.
Mr. Ken Kudo, General Director of the Asian Development Tour (ADT), evaluated that the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang has become an annual event marking an important step for the Asian Tour in potential golf markets like Danang. Over the past two years, the tournament has witnessed the emergence of many young champions and has gradually become popular among ADT members.
Along with the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang, Danang City also organizes a destination and golf tourism product survey program from August 27 to 30 with golf travel delegations from Taiwan, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and the Pro-Am professional-amateur golf exchange, experiencing Danang tourism.
