Hue has just launched five new rest stations and free drinking water dispensers for residents and tourists at various tourist spots.
Recently, the project “Hue – Plastic Reduction Urban Area in Central Vietnam” funded by WWF Norway, in collaboration with WWF Vietnam, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue Province, and the Hue Green Park Center, inaugurated and launched five rest stations and free drinking water dispensers at tourist spots.

With the activation of these five rest stations and free drinking water dispensers, tourists and residents of the ancient capital Hue can use their personal containers to collect water or drink directly from the tap when visiting prominent tourist locations in Hue city such as Thien Mu Pagoda, Bao Vinh Ancient Town, Ban Nguyet Bridge – Ben Me, Vong Canh Hill, and Sinh Village.
These free water dispensing points have been put into operation with the aim of encouraging residents and tourists to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles, always carry personal water containers to refill, reduce plastic waste and pollution, conserve resources, and move towards sustainable development in Hue city.
Currently, Hue city is implementing various solutions to minimize plastic waste in its tourism activities. Earlier, in August 2023, the project “Hue – Plastic Reduction Urban Area in Central Vietnam” in collaboration with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center launched three rest stations and water dispensers at the tombs of Kings Gia Long, Minh Mang, and Dong Khanh.
