As Southeast Asia’s largest trade event for the oil and gas industry, OGA continues to draw strong attention as a focal point for the industry, uniting business opportunities, thought leaders, innovators and prominent experts from corporate and government under one roof.

The opening was officiated by Datuk Yatimah Binti Sarjiman, Deputy Secretary General (Sectoral), Ministry of Economy. Among the guests were Datuk Bacho Pilong, Senior Vice President, Project Delivery & Technology, PETRONAS, Mr. Brandon Spencer, President, Energy Industries, ABB Group and Mr. Azman Nasir, Regional Director, Energy Industries Council (EIC) and Informa Markets Malaysia Co-chairman Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Dato‘ Sri Panglima Mohd Azumi Mohamed.

PETRONAS, continues to be the Corporate Partner of the three-day event along with other sponsors, ABB Group, Aveva, EXS Synergy, HHA Associates, Italian Trade Agency, MATCOR, McDermott, TNF Energy, Torr Energy, Wellpro Group, and Yokogawa among them.

Supporting Partners of the show include Malaysian Petrochemicals Association (MPA), Malaysian Oil, Gas and Energy Services Council (MOGSC), Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

The 19th edition of OGA takes up an impressive 20,000 sqm, making it 25 per cent larger, providing the centre stage for 2,000 exhibitors uniting hundreds of Malaysian OGSE companies and international companies operating in the region.

OGA will host seven international pavilions from China, Germany, Italy, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom and the United States encouraging greater interaction for the 25,000 attendees from around the world to strengthen business partnerships and find new opportunities in the era of energy transformation.

The urgency to create new pathways to resolve the energy trilemma of balancing energy security, sustainability and affordability will dominate from the exhibition space to the conference hall.

At the core are how nations and the industry can cut carbon emissions, and the role by stakeholders in driving towards a low carbon future and net zero by 2050 particularly in the Asia-Pacific.

These are the overarching discussions at the EIC Asia Pacific Energy Conversations to be held over seven sessions with 40 speakers and the ensuing Leadership Roundtable with Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC) under the theme "Resiliency of the OGSE Segment is Key to Energy Security and Transition Agenda".

The conference has confirmed participants from PETRONAS, Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS), England, Scotland, Singapore, Italy, Brunei, Norway, and France.

A series of dedicated zones – SME Pavilion, Innovation Pavilion, MATRADE INSP Programme and Speak OGA — will unlock more business and networking opportunities for participants to expand their outreach, share and gain industry insights and display their new solutions and services.

PETRONAS will also sponsor SME Pavilion and the OGSE Innovation Awards organised by MOGSC to provide a window for top Malaysian OGSE vendors to present innovative solutions in the upstream and downstream sectors to attract the international market and investors.

A new highlight on the exhibition floor is Speak OGA, a free-to-attend open dialogue helmed by experts from the show’s supporting partners to provide insights into the ASEAN energy landscape agenda, 4th Industrial Revolution and downstream petrochemicals.

MATRADE, the national trade promotion agency, will be coordinating its International Sourcing Programme (INSP) to business match Malaysian companies with international companies.

OGA is also partnering with Malaysia Airlines and its subsidiary Firefly Airlines, as the official carriers and Healthland as the official wellness partner to enhance customer experience for all attendees.

"OGA is more than just another gathering of energy professionals, but also a convergence of minds and ideas and to foster collaboration and investments. It has, and will, continue to play a critical role as a one-stop platform to enable business and networking opportunities across the entire energy industry chain, and to bolster Malaysia’s position as a regional oil and gas hub. The oil and gas industry has been a cornerstone of modern civilisation, fuelling economies, powering industries, and providing resources that touch every facet of our lives," said Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Dato‘ Sri Panglima Mohd Azumi Mohamed.
