According to Mr. Le Anh Kiet, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Da Lat City, the number of tourists visiting Da Lat from February 8th to February 14th (from the 28th day of the lunar calendar to the 5th day of Tet) reached approximately 238,000, a 61.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Accommodated tourists totaled 178,500.

Among them, international tourists numbered 18,000, a 114.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023, with 17,100 staying overnight. The number of domestic tourists reached 220,000, up 58.73% compared to the same period in 2023, with 161,400 staying overnight.

The influx of tourists to Da Lat was highest from the second day to the third day of Tet. The dense concentration of tourists made intra-city transportation quite challenging. Congestion was observed on routes such as Ba Thang Tu Street and the section of Tran Quoc Toan Street near the Dalat Night Market roundabout.

Additionally, the abundant blooming of cherry blossoms during Tet greatly contributed to the surge in visitors, leading many accommodation facilities to reach high room occupancy rates, estimated at 85-90%. For instance, Hotel Colline Dalat and MerPerle Resorts & Hotels were fully booked two weeks before Tet.

During the 2024 Tet holiday, Da Lat organized numerous cultural, artistic, and sports activities to serve locals and tourists, such as art programs combined with fireworks to welcome the new year at Lam Vien Square; organizing activities to celebrate the Party and the Spring Festival for grassroots organizations in Mang Lin hamlet (Ward 7), Ta Nung Commune, and Ward 12 People’s Committee…

Furthermore, the city also hosted music programs to welcome the new year for tourists and residents, featuring famous singers. During Tet, there were no significant issues regarding prices, service attitudes, or product quality at tourist destinations, which could affect the city’s tourism quality.
